The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is the latest addition to the Institution in the year 1990. Students learn concepts and skills needed for designing, programming, and applying computer systems while also learning the theoretical and mathematical foundations of computer science. The six semester course is aimed at providing theoretical and practical knowledge of Computer Science. The general subjects are Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English. The hardware subjects are Computer Communication & Networking, Computer Hardware & Maintenance, Computer Architecture etc. The software subjects include UNIX & Object Oriented Programming, Database Management Systems, Data Structures, Visual Programming, Web Technology etc. The curriculum also includes management papers like Industrial Management & Entrepreneurship. The students are required to undertake seminars, and main project. Thus, the course produces an ideal software engineer, well-equipped to meet the challenges of the rapidly growing IT industry
The curriculum comprises of the study of computers, including their design (architecture) and their uses for computations, data processing, and systems control. The field of computer science includes engineering activities such as the design of computers and of the hardware and software that make up computer systems. It also encompasses theoretical, mathematical activities, such as the design and analysis of algorithms, performance studies of systems and their components by means of techniques like queuing theory, and the estimation of the reliability and availability of systems by probabilistic techniques......
